Follow these simple steps to paste, crop, label, and export your class screenshots into a single JPEG image.
Step 1: Open the Template & Capture Screenshots #
- Download and Open the provided PowerPoint template file.
- During your Zoom session, capture your screenshots:
- Windows: Press Windows Key + Shift + S to drag a box over the Zoom grid, or press PrtScn (Print Screen). (If using PrtScn, make sure to keep the PPT file open so you can paste immediately!)
- Mac: Press Cmd + Shift + 4 to select the Zoom grid, or Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + 4 to copy it directly.
- Switch back to PowerPoint and paste (Ctrl + V on Windows or Cmd + V on Mac) both screenshots into the layout area.
Step 2: Crop & Resize the Screenshots #
If your screenshots include extra black space, toolbars, or Zoom buttons, you can easily trim and fit them:
- To Crop:
- Click on the image you want to trim.
- Go to the Picture Format tab in the top menu and click Crop (or right-click the image and select Crop).
- Drag the black border handles inward to trim off unwanted edges. Click outside the image when done.
- To Resize (IMPORTANT!):
- ⚠️ ALWAYS drag from the FOUR CORNER CIRCLES to resize your screenshot.
- NEVER drag from the top, bottom, or side dots, or you will stretch everyone’s faces and make them look wide or squished!
Step 3: Update the Batch Name #
- Locate the text box on the slide containing <name>.
- Double-click the text and replace
with your actual batch name. - Correct format: Batch Kurama
- Incorrect format: Batch <Kurama> (make sure to delete the < > brackets entirely!)
Step 4: Export as a JPEG File #
Once your photos are aligned and the batch name is updated, follow these steps to save it as a single image file:
- Go to File > Save As (or Export).
- Click the file type drop-down menu (below the file name) and change it from PowerPoint Presentation to JPEG (*.jpg) or PNG (*.png).
- Choose your save location and click Save.
- A popup window will appear asking: “Which slides do you want to export?”
- Click “Just This One” (Do NOT select “All Slides”, or it will create an annoying extra folder!).
