Compensatory Off Policy

If an employee is required to work on any important assignment on a National holiday, Festival holiday, or Declared weekly off day (Saturday and Sunday), he or she is eligible for Compensatory off on any other working day.


1. Prior Approval #

Prior written approval via email is mandatory from the Department Head, Direct Reporting Manager, or Manager overseeing the assignment or project.

2. Unapproved Work #

No compensatory off shall be granted if the employee works on a National Holiday, Festival Holiday, or Declared Weekly Off without prior approval or request from the manager or management representative.

3. Validity Period #

Compensatory off must be availed within a month from the date it is earned. Any comp off availed beyond the stipulated period shall not be approved and will be treated as unpaid leave.

4. Consecutive Comp Off Limit #

An employee may avail a maximum of two (2) consecutive days of compensatory off. Availing more than two consecutive days requires prior discussion and written approval from the manager or management representative.

5. No Monetary Compensation #

Compensatory off shall be granted only in the form of leave. No monetary payment or cash compensation shall be provided in lieu of unused or unavailed comp offs.

6. Eligibility Based on Hours Worked #

Compensatory off shall be granted based on the actual number of hours worked, as follows:

  • More than 3 hours and less than 5 hours: eligible for half day compensatory off
  • 5 hours or more: eligible for one full day compensatory off
  • Work of 3 hours or less shall not qualify for compensatory off

7. Attendance and Documentation #

Employees must ensure that their timesheets, or work records for the holiday/weekly off, are properly recorded and verifiable.

8. Applicability to Remote Work #

This policy shall apply equally to on site, hybrid, and remote work, provided the work is officially assigned and approved.

9. Applicability to Travel #

An employee shall not be eligible for the comp off if he or she has traveled within or outside India for business purposes.

10. Manager’s Discretion #

Approval of compensatory off is subject to business requirements and operational feasibility, and final approval rests with management.

11. Misuse or Misinterpretation #

Management reserves the right to interpret, modify, or amend this policy at any time based on organizational needs or statutory requirements.

13. Effective Date #

This revised Compensatory Off Policy shall come into effect from February 2026.

14. Target Members #

This Compensatory Off Policy shall be applicable to all regular employees and full time consultants of AtoJ Hirameki India Private Limited.
